At 7:15 yesterday morning, the 110 kv Jianyi power transmission line of the
Fuzhou Power Grid in Jiangxi Province was restored power transmission after 22
days of hard efforts of 2,100 militiamen in the Fuzhou Military Sub-Command and
local power technical workers. According to the State Grid Corporation, this is
the last county-level grid in the disaster-stricken areas, which had been
disconnected with main grid due to snow-triggered disasters, to be re-linked
with the main power grid.
On Jan.28, due to continuous snowy weather, the operation of 110kv Jianyi
power transmission line from Fuzhou to Yihuang broke down and the whole Yihuang
County became wrapped in complete darkness. In the face of the disaster, the
Fuzhou Military Sub-Command promptly organized militiamen and reservists in
Linchuan, Yihuang and Nancheng Counties to work hard in partnership with the
provincial power company, local governments, and local people to repair power
grids and restore power transmission.
At 19:00 on Feb.16, the people who were repairing power transmission lines
were told to complete the restoration of power transmission with four naked
lines before daybreak of Feb.17. The militiamen and reservists worked hard on
that night and accomplished the task before 03:30 and power supply to Yihuang
County has now been restored.
