The Air Force of the PLA has donated money to rebuild 11 "August 1st Cherishing-the-People Schools" and "Blue Sky Hope Primary Schools" in disaster-stricken areas in southern China. On Feb. 21, leaders of the Air Force of the PLA, leading the relevant staff from its leading organs, made a special trip to Hefei by air for directly sending the 11 million yuan donated by the officers and men of the Air Force of the PLA to the governments of 11 county governments and municipal governments in Anhui Province.

　　The damaged schools in disaster-stricken areas worried the officers and men of the Air Force of the PLA. According to the relevant leader of the Political Department of the Air Force of the PLA, the Air Force of the PLA has helped build 130-odd "August 1st Cherishing-the-People Schools" and "Blue Sky Hope Primary Schools" in over 20 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in the last decade. The heavy snow disaster in early 2008 made 11 "August 1st Cherishing-the-People Schools" and "Blue Sky Hope Primary Schools" dispersed in Anhui, Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan, Guizhou, and Jiangxi Provinces and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region suffer from different extent of damages. The Political Department of the Air Force of the PLA organized some people to go down to these schools to investigate the damage and put forward specific measures to rebuild the schools.
