APF in Anti-drug Campaign

　　On the eve of June 26, the International Day Against Drug Abuse, the reporters learnt from the Frontier Defense Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security that a piece of good news came in from the Armed Police frontier defense troops fighting against drug abuse that on June 10, the Baoshan Frontier Defense Detachment of the Armed Police Yunnan Frontier Defense Contingent successfully clamped down on a family gang involved in drug trafficking, captured 51.4939 kilograms of heroin, 3.4347 kilograms of amphetamine chloride, one 54-type military pistol with 11 rounds of cartridges, and 45 rounds of small-caliber rifle cartridges, and seized eight suspects and two vehicles for transporting drugs.

　　On February 1, 2008, the Armed Police Fujian Frontier Defense Contingent organized the Fuzhou Frontier Defense Detachment to crack a super-large ice case supervised by the Border Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security. They caught 18 criminals, smashed a underground drug plant, confiscated 0.4kg of ice, 105.23 kg of half-baked ice, 2kg of caffeine and 1,395.5 kg of precursor chemicals and drug agents such as ephedrine, and detained 4 sets of drug-making equipment including vacuum pumps and reacting furnaces.
