Wang Fuqing, a squad leader of the 2nd Company of the 1st Battalion of an
infantry brigade of the Beijing Military Area Command, has been interested in
various guns for many years. After joining the army, he trained hard in
marksmanship and became a well-known sharpshooter.
In March 2007, Wang Fuqing was selected to participate in an intensive
training for special snipers in the Beijing Military Area Command. After four
month's training, he distinguished himself in a marksmanship competition held by
the Military Area Command and was cited as a "special-class sniper".
In virtue of his outstanding shooting skill, Wang Fuqing was chosen as
security personnel for the Beijing Olympics. In the security subjects training
for the Olympics, he set a stricter demand upon himself and strived to enhance
his shooting skill still further. Not long ago, in a report-back shooting
demonstration, five bullets fired by Wang Fuqing all hit the targets in the
"short-distance pinpoint sniping", and in the "basic shooting examination", he
fired 10 bullets to get an excellent result of 97 rings. The leaders sitting on
the visitor's stand all applauded loudly for his excellent marksmanship skill.
Wang Fuqing is not only an excellent shooter, he is also an outstanding
squad leader. Over the seven years since he became the squad leader, he has
brought up over 40 training pacemakers, of whom 12 have now become NCOs and one
of them has been enrolled by a military academy for further study.
