In late July, a task force of a frigate group of the East China Sea Fleet of the PLA Navy conducted 8-day drill at sea in light of the Olympic security mission it is entrusted to prepare itself to cope with various contingencies at sea during the Beijing Olympic Games. The drill includes striking at fast-moving small target at sea, guarding against underwater attack, guarding against hijacking, etc.
