BEIJING, March 5 (ChinaMil) -- In response to a series of “right deviation” moves and the practice of “arms expansion and war preparation” by the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Maj. Gen. Yang Jianhua, deputy to the 12th National People's Congress (NPC), former head of the Joint Logistics Department under the Nanjing Military Area Command (MAC) of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and son of General Yang Dezhi, pointed out that the Chinese military does not want any war, but it fears no war.
The right-wing forces in Japan have recently made big moves turning back the wheel on historical issues, and even led Japan onto a road that is fully against the global public opinions, Yang Jianhua said in an exclusive interview on March 3, 2014.
“Not only the Chinese people, but also those Asian countries once suffering from invasions by Japan, are paying attention. What Shinzo Abe has done not only challenges China, but also the international order after World War II.” It is only natural that the Chinese people react strongly, and China will never accept such a practice, Yang Jianhua said.
Yang Jianhua, who used to serve as the head of the Joint Logistics Department under the Nanjing MAC, said, “As servicemen, we don't want any war, but of course we fear no war."
In response to the recent statement by Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida that in case Japan is involved in any war, Japan will not object to the US army's practice of bringing nuclear weapons into the Japanese territory, Yang Jianhua said frankly that this is "another emergence" of the militaristic dream of Japan. "Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security between the United States of America and Japan is the product of the cold war. We all know about the power of atomic bombs and nuclear weapons. As an important part of the forces of peace in the world, China today is no longer in the same situation as in the the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period."
Yang Jianhua stressed that “From a moral perspective alone, the key is whether we dare to uphold justice or not. With poor weapons and equipment, we defeated our enemies in those years. With China's overall strength today, we have the confidence and the self-defense capability, and fear no one.”
