BEIJING, March 6 (ChinaMil) -- The delegation of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) attending the Second Session of the 12th National People’s Congress (NPC) began to carry out panel discussions on the Report on the Work of the Government 2013 (hereinafter referred to as the Report) delivered by Li Keqiang, premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), on the afternoon of March 5, 2014

The PLA deputies said that the Report, with its contents directly facing the problems and challenges, delivered by Premier Li is a scientific and practical-minded, strength-gathering and confidence-boosting good report.

Li Keqing, premier of the State Council, pointed out in the Report that in the past year, the PLA and the Chinese People’s Armed Police Force (APF) had demonstrated their new styles and combat power levels. In the year of 2014, it is necessary to comprehensively strengthen the military’s revolutionized, modernized and standardized construction, and constantly enhance the military’s deterrence and actual-combat capability under information-based conditions.

The PLA deputies expressed that the national defense and army building are the strong backing of China’s national security, and China’s peaceful development cannot be ensured without a consolidated national defense and a powerful military. It is urgent to push forward the army building and reform as well as the military struggle preparation so as to provide the strong and powerful security support for realizing the Chinese Dream in the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
