Xi leaves for state visits to Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus

  Chinese President Xi Jinping leaves for state visits to Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus over the coming days.

  In Kazakhstan, President Xi is expected to promote a series of projects as part of the "Silk Road Economic Belt", initiated by China in 2013.

  During his visit to Russia, President Xi will attend a ceremonial parade at Moscow's Red Square, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe. President Xi is also scheduled to meet World War Two veterans in both Russia and Belarus.
