In the spring of 1943, the 8th Brigade of the New Fourth Army launched a campaign to improve style of work. Zhang Aiping, deputy commander of the 3rd Division and concurrently the brigade commander, was giving a report to the troops.

In October 1959, Luo Ruiqing, Zhang Aiping, Shu Zhenghua and some other officers were inspecting troops in Nankou.

During the Battle of Yijiangshan Island, the Front Commander Zhang Aiping, (chief of staff of the North China Military Command), was giving instructions to troops when he inspected the frontline.

In May 1944, Zhang Aiping, deputy division commander of the 3rd Division of the New Fourth Army and concurrently commander of the 8th Brigade, was at the frontline in the Chenjiagang Battle.

In March 1961, Zhang Aiping, together with several marshals, was inspecting a new tank made in China at Zhoukoudian.

In November 1955, Zhang Aiping was in a military exercise in Lüda along with Xiao Hua.

In 1942, Chen Yi, commander of the New Fourth Army, and Zhang Aiping, commander of the 3rd Division, were welcomed by some local comrades when they arrived at the anti-Japanese base area, south of the Huai River. In October 1959, Luo Ruiqing and Zhang Aiping were on an inspection tour in Nankou. The picture shows they were in an artillery unit, watching a telemeter.

In 1958, General Zhang Aiping, deputy chief of general staff of the PLA, inspected a model antiaircraft artillery company in Fujian Province. The picture shows the officers and men welcomed the arrival of Zhang Aiping and other generals.
