Preface
Since its founding
on October 1, 1949, New China has engaged in frequent
diplomatic activities. Thanks to the concern of Mao
Zedong and other veteran revolutionaries, the Guard
of Honor of the three services of the People's Liberation
Army (PLA), representing "China's dignity and the
army's image" , was organized in Beijing in 1952 and
marched onto China's political stage.
