MOSCOW, July 15 (ChinaMil) -- The "Cooperation -2016" China-Russia joint anti-terrorism drill was successfully completed at the training center of the Independent Division of Russian National Guard (RNG) on the morning of July 14.
The chief commanding officer of the joint drill and also deputy chief of staff of the RNG introduced that the joint anti-terrorism training took place in two areas with an air maneuver distance of more than 400 kilometers.
The drill centered around fighting, tactical shooting, helicopter fast-roping, fast evacuation, building climbing and units tactical comprehensive exercises and other subjects.
Officers and soldiers of both sides in the drill have coordinated closely, worked hard, and exchanged skills, showing a good state of mind, will and tactical ability. The drill achieved the desired goals, he added
The tactical comprehensive exercise of wiping out "terrorist groups" in the jungle at night is an important part of the joint drill. The joint command group did not make a plan and assigned the tasks on a very short notice.
Officers and soldiers participating in the exercise were airdropped to an unpopulated area in a forest in Smolensk by six helicopters. The mission started in thunderstorms immediately.

Gen. Wang Ning, commander of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force (APF), said that strengthening normalized cooperation is an important measure in implementing the promotion of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Russia advocated by the two heads of state.
The counter-terrorism training has promoted the cooperation and exchange, and deepened mutual understanding and trust between the Chinese APF and RNG, and improved the level of training and counter-terrorism capacity building of both sides, Wang Ning said.
Wang Ning stressed that the joint drill also laid a solid foundation for the two sides to fight against the "three forces", namely, terrorism, extremism and separatism.
Wang Ning also said that the drill is of great strategic significance for improving the China-Russian joint response to the international terrorism threats, carrying out joint anti-terrorism actions, safeguarding regional and world peace, security and stability.
