Chinese Troops Back Home after "Peace Mission – 2016"

TORUGART, Sept. 23 (ChinaMil) -- The 270 Chinese service members returned safely to China at 7 pm on September 22 after completing the Peace Mission-2016 joint anti-terrorism military exercise of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Kyrgyzstan.

More than 1,100 troops from Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan participated in the Peace Mission -2016 joint military exercise held in Balykchy of Kyrgyzstan from September 15 to 21.

All foreign military forces participating in the joint exercise spoke highly of the excellent performance by the Chinese troops, especially their precise command, strike and coordination capabilities.

Chinese participating troops set out for home on the morning of September 22 by air and ground transportation options available.

Defense officials of Kyrgyzstan had a cordial and friendly farewell with leaders of the Chinese participating troops before they left Balykchy.

The deputy head and chief of staff of the 8th Guards Division of Kyrgyzstan led 60 armed soldiers to escort the Chinese troops to leave Kyrgyzstan.
