Chinese naval taskforce commander visits Cambodian defense minister

PHNOM PENH, October 20 (ChinaMil) -- Wang Hongli, commanding officer of the 23rd Chinese naval escort taskforce that was visiting Cambodia, visited Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Tea Banh on the morning of October 17, local time.

Tea Banh welcomed the Chinese naval taskforce, saying that its visit after Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Cambodia shows the deep friendship between the two countries and militaries.

He said that China and Cambodia have a long history of traditional friendship and bountiful cooperation results have been achieved by both sides in multiple areas.

Tea Banh hoped that China and Cambodia can deepen exchange and cooperation in the future to carry forward the long-standing friendship between the two countries and militaries.

Wang Hongli thanked the Cambodian government, military and people for their care and support, and commended the true friendship between China and Cambodia.

This visit by the Chinese naval taskforce is aiming to deepen mutual understanding and expand communication for friendliness and peace, Wang Hongli added, saying that the visit is sure to promote the mutual understanding and consolidate the friendship between China and Cambodia.
