BEIJING, Nov. 16 (ChinaMil) -- Vice Chairman Xu Qiliang of China's Central Military Commission (CMC) met with Chief of Naval Staff of Bangladesh Mohammad Nizamuddin Ahmed in Beijing on November 15.
Xu said that China and Bangladesh are good neighbors nourished by the same river, the two countries have enjoyed sound development of bilateral relations since the establishment of China- Bangladesh diplomatic ties.
Chinese President Xi Jinping made a successful visit to Bangladesh not long ago, and leaders of both countries jointly promoted the bilateral relations to a strategic cooperative partnership, Xu added.
China will actively implement the principles of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness in developing relations with neighboring countries proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, China appreciates Bangladesh's firm support in Taiwan, Xinjiang, Tibet and the South China Sea-related issues which concern China's core interests, and will continue to support the efforts Bangladesh has made in safeguarding its own sovereignty and territorial integrity, Xu continued.
Push forward by heads of state of both countries, the two militaries have witnessed constantly strengthened ties and fruitful cooperation in various fields, Xu said.
The Chinese military is willing to provide assistance within its available resources to the Bangladeshi military, and hopes the two sides will continue to expand exchange, strengthen pragmatic cooperation, added Xu.
Nizamuddin said that Bangladesh and China have time-honored friendship, Bangladesh is grateful for China’s vigorous support and assistance in Bangladesh's national development and army building.
Bangladeshi military is willing to deepen pragmatic cooperation in various fields with the Chinese military, so as to enhance China-Bangladesh friendship, Nizamuddin said.
