Soldiers of a frontier defense company under the PLA's Altay military sub-command stationed in Yarant, Altay of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region climb the snow-clad mountains on their way patrolling the border on Nov. 26, 2016. In mid November, many areas of northern Xinjiang were hit by heavy snowstorm and the snowfall in some mountainous areas exceeded one meter high, and the temperature in Yarant town experienced a sudden drop to around 40 degrees centigrade below zero.
