25th Chinese naval escort taskforce conducts live-fire drill in Indian Ocean

The guided-missile frigate Hengyang (Hull 568) fires its close-in weapons system at simulated targets during a live-fire drill of using weapons at an undisclosed sea area in the Indian Ocean on Dec. 28, 2016. The warship Hengyang is assigned to the 25th Chinese naval escort taskforce that is en route to the Gulf of Aden for the escort mission. The taskforce is composed of two guided-missile frigates, a supply ship, two ship-borne helicopters, dozens of special combat soldiers, and more than 700 seaman.
