Chinese military urged to enhance military training and combat readiness

BEIJING, March 7 (ChinaMil) -- The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) delegation to the Fifth Session of the 12th National People’s Congress held group discussions on Sunday. Fan Changlong, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice-chairman of China's Central Military Commission (CMC), joined a group of members of the PLA delegation in the discussion.

Gen. Fan is the head of the PLA delegation to the annual session of the NPC.

Fan said that over the past year, under the leadership of the Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is also chairman of the CMC, the national defense and military reform has been deepened, the preparations for future wars and combat-oriented military training has made further progress, resulting in improvement of the combat effectiveness of the troops.

Fan urged the PLA and the Armed Police Force to conscientiously implement the strategic decisions made by President Xi Jinping and the CMC, strengthen preparations for future wars in various directions and areas.

The PLA and Armed Police troops should carry out combat-oriented military training even harder to make steadily and down-to-earth elevation of combat effectiveness, Fan said.
