PLA Army commander meets with Pakistan chief of army staff

BEIJING, March 17 (ChinaMil) -- General Li Zuocheng, commander of the Chinese PLA Army, met with visiting Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Beijing on the afternoon of March 16, 2017.

Gen. Li said that the military ties between China and Pakistan have been constantly developing and both sides have witnessed frequent exchange of high-level visits and fruitful cooperation in fields like personnel training , equipment development, joint military drills and anti-terrorism operations.

He suggested that the two armies should upgrade level of exchange and cooperation in fields of institutionalized dialogues, military drills, personnel training, security of One Belt and One Road initiative so as to better protect development interests of the two countries and maintain the peace and stability in the region.

Gen. Bajwa expressed that Pakistan cherishes the traditional friendship with China. He hoped the two militaries to strengthen exchange of visits, boost mutual trust and enhance cooperation in the areas like personnel training, counter-terror training and special operations.

Gen. Li Zuocheng held a welcoming ceremony for Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa and accompanied him to review the guard of honor of the PLA Army.
