BEIJING, March 31 (ChinaMil) -- In the 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011 - 2015), the Chinese military has successively dispatched more than 300 professional medical service personnel in over 60 batches to carry out medical service training in other countries and sent an average of 240-plus medical professionals each year to perform medical service duties in United Nations (UN) peacekeeping mission areas, according to the Central Military Commission's Logistic Support Department.

In recent years, the Chinese military has dispatched over 170 medical experts teams and personnel training teams for medical equipment handover and installation to more than 50 foreign countries and regions, and provided more than 120 batches of medical materials including emergency humanitarian medical supplies for over 40 countries.

Also from the year of 2011 to 2015, the Chinese naval hospital ship Peace Ark and military medical expert teams onboard the ship have paid outgoing visits for four times to countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America to provide technical assistance and free medical services. In addition, multiple professional medical and epidemic-prevention rescue teams sent by the Chinese military have participated in international emergency medical rescue missions.

Since 2003, the Chinese military has dispatched over 60 level-II medical detachments and more than 120 level-I medical detachments consisting of more than 4,000 military medical workers to participate in UN peacekeeping operations in five UN peacekeeping mission areas.
