MOSCOW, April 28 (ChinaMil) -- Major General Shao Yuanming, deputy chief of the Joint Staff Department under China’s Central Military Commission (CMC), attended the sixth Moscow Conference on International Security and delivered a speech on Thursday.

Shao Yuanming stated China's views on international and regional security. He said that the world is in a period of great changes and great development and the trend of peace, development, cooperation and win-win has become more powerful.

While the world remains peaceful in a whole, complexity and uncertainty become a new reality of international security, and the global and Asia-Pacific security face many challenges, Shao said.

For example, the global economic downturn has triggered the rise of international security risks. Cold war thinking still exists and regional hot issues arise from time to time. The spread of international terrorism has made terrorist threats become more serious. Besides, military competition continues and threatens global strategic stability, Shao added.

Shao put forward China's proposal on jointly facing security challenges. He said that China has always been a contributor to safeguard world peace and a firm force to stabilize the Asia-Pacific region.

China is willing to work together with other countries to create a community of shared future for mankind and promote the common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security concept, Shao said.

China advocates for establishing new international relations, working together to maintain common security, resolving contradictions and differences through dialogue and consultation and tacking difficult security problems through multiple approaches, Shao added.

Shao also introduced the goal of the Chinese military in actively carrying out international cooperation. The Chinese military will develop all-round military relations and enhance strategic mutual trust; promote military cooperation and achieve mutual security; actively fulfill international responsibilities and obligations and safeguard world and regional peace.

This year's conference is organized by the Russian Ministry of Defense. Defense ministers from more than 20 countries including Brazil and Belarus, representatives from international and regional organizations including the United Nations and Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and experts and scholars from the world attended the conference.
