China, S. Africa vow to boost mil-to-mil logistic exchange

BEIJING, May 2 (ChinaMil) -- General Zhao Keshi, member of China's Central Military Commission (CMC) and director of the Logistics Support Department under the CMC, met with a logistics delegation of the South African National Defense Force (SANDF) led by Lieutenant General Motlhamme Morris Moadira, chief of the Logistics Department of the SANDF, in Beijing on the afternoon of April 28.

Zhao mentioned that South Africa is one the three African countries Chinese President Xi Jinping visited during his first visit to foreign countries after he took the office as the Chinese President in March 2013. South African President Jacob Zuma, who have visited China for six times, attaches great important to strengthening contacts with China in various aspects, Zhao added.

Under the guidance and leadership of the heads of state of the two countries, the China-South Africa comprehensive strategic partnership will constantly develop to a new high, Zhao said.

As an important component of the relations between the two countries, the relations between the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and South African National Defense Force have been developing smoothly, and their contacts in logistics area have also achieved fruitful results, Zhao stressed, adding that the Chinese PLA is willing to constantly deepen exchange with the SANDF in logistics area.

Zhao also briefed the South African delegation about the reform of China’s national defense and its military.

Moadira said that the heads of state of the two countries have pointed out the direction for the development of the South Africa-China relations, and the SANDF attaches importance to carrying out exchange and cooperation with the Chinese PLA in various fields including logistics. The two sides can learn from each other and jointly push forward the development of exchange in logistics area between the two militaries, he added.
