Frigate Huangshan attends Singapore's int'l maritime review

CHANGI, SINGAPORE, May 16 (ChinaMil) -- The Chinese guided-missile frigate Huangshan participated in the Singapore International Maritime Review (IMR) on Monday morning in celebration of the Royal Singapore Navy's Golden Jubilee.

A five-member delegation led by Rear Admiral Zhou Xuming, deputy commander of the South China Sea Fleet of the PLA Navy, attended the review.

Themed with “Maritime Force for Maritime Nation”, the review includes a military parade, an onshore review and a maritime review.

The Chinese PLA Navy formation as well as other 21 ones from countries including the US, Russia and Canada participated in the military parade and a naming ceremony for the RSS Singapura, Changi Naval Base.

During the onshore review, Singaporean President Tony Tan Keng Yam boarded an open-top vehicle to review the formations and nearly 20 docked naval ships from countries including Japan and Thailand.

At about 11:00 am on that day, 26 naval ships with all flags flying from 21 countries including China, Russia and Australia participated in the maritime review.
