15th Chinese peacekeeping medical detachment to Lebanon ready to go

HENGYANG, May 17 (ChinaMil) -- The departure ceremony for the 15th Chinese peacekeeping medical detachment to Lebanon was held in Hengyang City of central China's Henan Province at about 08:00 am on May 16, 2017.

All the detachment's 30 members wearing the United Nations (UN) blue berets attended the ceremony. They are mainly from affiliated units with the Guilin Joint Logistic Support Center under the People's Liberation Army (PLA).

These peacekeepers are scheduled to fly to their mission area in Lebanon in two batches on May 18 and 25 respectively to implement one-year peacekeeping missions, including rescuing, treating and evacuating the sick and wounded of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) as well as carrying out hygiene and epidemic prevention.
