WAU, SOUTH SUDAN, June 6 (ChinaMil) -- A group of UN peacekeepers from the 15th Chinese peacekeeping engineer detachment and the 7th Chinese peacekeeping medical team, which are stationed in Wau of South Sudan, visited a primary school in Wau on June 1, local time, and spent a happy International Children's Day with pupils at the school.

The Chinese peacekeepers presented over 500 pieces of gifts to the school, including desks, chairs, stationery and sports equipment.

Female members of the Chinese peacekeeping medical team conducted eyesight and ENT examinations for pupils of the school and wished them a happy International Children's Day.

Afterwards, these pupils watched performances of Chinese traditional culture given by the Chinese peacekeepers such as Chinese Kung Fu, Sichuan opera's face-changing, acrobatics.

Xiao Shuwen, leader of the 7th Chinese peacekeeping medical team to South Sudan (Wau), said that since deployed in the mission area in Wau, the Chinese peacekeeping engineer detachment and medical detachment have been always doing their best to provide assistance for the local primary school while fulfilling their peacekeeping missions.
