Six events of IAG 2017 to be hosted in China from July 30

BEIJING, July 26 (ChinaMil) -- Six events of the International Army Games (IAG) 2017 will be held in Korla City of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Changchun City of northeast China's Jilin Province and Guangshui City of central China's Hubei Province respectively from July 30 to August 12, 2017.

This is the first time that Chinese military hosts comprehensive international military games. China has been participating in the annual IAG for three consecutive years since 2014. This year the game is jointly hosted by China, Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan.

There are a total of 28 events in IAG 2017 and China will host 6 events i.e. the Suvorov Attack, the Safe Environment, the Clear Sky and the Gunsmith Master events in Korla, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. And the Aviadarts and the Airborne Platoon events will be held in Jilin Province and Hubei Province respectively.

Military teams from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Venezuela, Angola, Iran, Egypt, Morocco, South Africa and Zimbabwe will participate in the events hosted in China.

Cai Yuedong, an officer from the Training Management Department under China's Central Military Commission, introduced that hosting international military games is an important opportunity for China to learn from, cooperate, enhance mutual trust and deepen friendship with the international militaries.

It is also a window for China to showcase its charm and let the world understand China and the Chinese military better, he added.

The teams and equipment from these participating countries have arrived and are conducting adaptive training in China.

In accordance with international practice, China will provide competition equipment for foreign teams, and make efficient and thoughtful arrangements in personnel clearance, equipment delivery, adaptive training, information network and logistics.

The participating teams will compete in such fields as infantry fighting vehicle, air-defense missile, nuclear biochemical reconnaissance, weapons maintenance, air force aviation, airborne troops and so on.

The IAG 2017 meets with the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. Therefore, activities including equipment exhibition, flight performance and cultural exchanges will also be held at the competition venues.
