Chinese military medical team arrives in Laos

The “Train of Peace” medical team of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army is warmly welcomed by the Lao military at Wattay International Airport in Vientiane, capital of Laos on July 25, 2017.

LAOS, July 25 (Chinamil)-- The 90-personnel medical team of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) arrived in Laos on Tuesday and will provide medical services to military members and people of Laos.

The medical team consists of Team one from the PLA Army Military Medical University and Team two from the Kunming General Hospital in Yunnan province. They arrived in Luang Namtha province in northern Laos and Vientiane, capital of Laos, by landway and air respectively. The Lao military held welcome ceremonies for them.

The militaries of both sides will hold the opening ceremony for the medical service on July 27.

A total of 34 experts in more than 20 clinical departments including respiratory, gastroenterology, urology and ophthalmology, bringing with advanced medical and sanitation equipment and medicines, will provide gratuitous treatment, physical examination, itinerant examination and surgeries to the Lao soldiers and people.

In addition, the team will also hold academic exchanges and fellowship activities with its counterparts in Laos.
