SHANGHAI, July 28 (ChinaMil) -- A week-long acupuncture training course for military doctors from foreign countries wrapped up at the Naval Medical University on July 22 in Shanghai.
The training course was sponsored by the Logistic Support Department of China's Central Military Commission (CMC) and hosted by the Naval Medical University of People's Liberation Army.
Military medical personnel from 11 countries including the United States, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Serbia, and Cambodia attended the course.
According to an official from the CMC Logistic Support Department, China's traditional acupuncture has a unique effect in the treatment of battle wound and training injuries, therefore, it has been promoted by armies of many countries, receiving high recognition in international military medical fields.
An acupuncture technique exchange activity between military medical doctors from China and the U.S. was held at the same time.
The exchange activity aims at implementing agreements reached by China and the U.S. in areas of humanitarian relief and military medical communications.
