BEIRUT, August 13 (ChinaMil) -- An emergency medical rescue exercise of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon(UNIFIL) code-named “Eastern Angel Rescue” took place in an area of southern Lebanon near the borders between Lebanon and Israel on August 10. Peacekeeping forces from nine countries including China, France and Spain participated in the exercise.
The exercise was directly commanded by the Joint Commanding Center of UNIFIL’s Sector East Headquarters and involved participants from many departments and multiple military services, aimed to examine the emergency rescue and collaborative support capabilities of UNIFIL’s medical institutions.
In the exercise, the emergency medical rescue, treatment and transfer for the wounded were carried out in the Chinese peacekeeping hospital to Lebanon.
Among the 30 Chinese peacekeepers now working in the Chinese peacekeeping hospital in southern Lebanon, most of them have ever taken part in major medical support missions including naval escort in the Gulf of Aden or participated in the actual-troop series exercise staged last year by the PLA in the Zhurihe Training Base, boasting rich experience in clinical practice and battlefield first aid.
