Int'l Army Games 2017 concludes with closing ceremony held in Russia

ALABINO, Russia, Aug.14 (ChinaMil) -- The closing ceremony of the International Army Games (IAG) 2017 held at the Alabino shooting range near Moscow City, capital of Russia, on the night of August 12, local time.

Representatives of participating teams from 28 countries as well as the local Russian citizens attended the closing ceremony.

General of the Army Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, presented medals and certificates to the Russian, Kazakhstan and Chinese teams, the top three in the contest of “Tank Biathlon”.

Zhang Kehai, a tank crew leader of the Chinese team in the Tank Biathlon contest received the prize “For Efforts and Initiative”.

Five female participants respectively from Nicaragua, Russia and Israel were the owners of the prize of “Most Beautiful out of Bravest”.

Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation General of the Army Sergei Shoigu delivered a speech after the prize-awarding ceremony.

The most excellent players sent by the 28 participating countries have showcased the military skills, accomplishment and experience in the contests on behalf of their own countries, said Shoigu.

The success of the IAG 2017 also appreciates the hard work of China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Belarus for their preparation of the venues and arrangements of the IAG contests, all the participants have tried their most for the best results, which has fully explained the troops of the participating countries are able to fulfill arduous tasks, said Shoigu.

From July 29 through to August 12, the IAG 2017 contests were held at 22 land venues in Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Belarus as well as the competition waters of the Japan Sea, the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea.
