Chinese defense chief meets with Cambodian Navy commander

BEIJING, Sept. 1 (ChinaMil) -- Chinese State Councilor and Defense Minister General Chang Wanquan met with the Royal Cambodian Navy Commander Vice Admiral Tea Vinh in Beijing on Thursday morning.

Chang said that China and Cambodia are long-tested good neighbors and true friends treating each other with sincerity, China is willing to work with Cambodia to comprehensively implement a series of important consensus reached by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, deepen political mutual trust and promote the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Cambodia to a new level.

In recent years, the military-to-military relations between the two countries have maintained a good momentum of development, Chang said. It is expected that the two armed forces, including the two navies, can further strengthen friendly exchanges, deepen pragmatic cooperation and make new contributions to consolidate the development of Sino-Cambodian friendship, Chang added.

Tea Vinh said that Cambodia regards China as a sincere and credible friend and a good partner, Cambodia thanks China for its long-standing selfless assistance.

The Cambodian Navy is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese Navy to promote the continuous development of relations between the two armed forces and the two countries, Tea Vinh said.
