NIGER BATTALION, MALI, Nov. 27 (ChinaMil) -- The Niger battalion of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) was attacked by militants on Nov 24, local time, killing three and injuring 14 in the Niger battalion. One was killed and one was wounded in the Mali government troops.
MINUSMA issued an urgent military intelligence report. The fifth Chinese peacekeeping medical team to Mali immediately formulated a plan to urgently treat the seven wounded who were sent to the second-tier hospital of the Chinese peacekeeping medical team. One of the wounded sustained more than 70 shrapnel wounds.
Fu Qiang, a squadron leader of the Chinese peacekeeping medical team, said that this is the largest batch of wounded requiring treatment since deployment to the mission area.
All of the seven injured are now in stable condition. Three experts of the Chinese peacekeeping medical team will take the UN medical helicopter to Ménaka to treat another A-class patient with penetrating wounds.
