Chinese peacekeeping guard detachment in Mali passes UN evaluation

GAO, Mali, Dec. 25 (ChinaMil) -- The 5th Chinese peacekeeping guard detachment in Mali received from 14th to 19th of December a systematic evaluation conducted by an team consisting of 18 staff officers from the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) Force.

The evaluation is aimed to review the combat capacity of the peacekeeping units under the MINUSMA Force.

The 18-member team conducted evaluation of operational command, combat readiness training, personnel quality, logistics support and equipment maintenance in the 5th Chinese peacekeeping guard detachment.

The detachment received a combat capability evaluation feedback report from MINUSMA on Dec. 20. The evaluation team gave the detachment full marks in the above five items.

During the evaluation process, in order to examine the rapid reaction capability of the Chinese peacekeeping guards, the team leader issued an order of calling the rapid operation force, and the Chinese peacekeeping guards completed the assembly with all members in full gear in only 46 seconds.
