Chinese military development photo exhibition held in Kazakhstan

ASTANA, Jan 23 (ChinaMil) -- The photo exhibition "China Today & China's National Defense and Army Building" hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Kazakhstan commenced at the Military History Museum of Kazakhstan on Jan 19.

Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Zhang Hanhui, Deputy Defense Minister of Kazakhstan Lieutenant-General Talgat Mukhtarov, attended the opening ceremony and made speeches respectively.

China always pursues a defensive national defense policy, and the development of China's military power has further consolidated and enriched the forces of world peace, Zhang said. The Chinese armed forces will always be participants in the construction of world peace and contribute to global development, Zhang added.

Mukhtarov said that Kazakhstan and China are good neighbors and good partners, the tremendous achievements made by China not only benefit Kazakhstan and the Central Asian countries, but also benefit the world as a whole. The military-to-military cooperation between the two countries have achieved fruitful results in fields of exchange of delegation visits and competitions, and the two militaries have also maintained close cooperation under the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Mukhtarov said in his speech.

The photo exhibition provides a new platform and window for people of Kazakhstan to learn more about China and the Chinese armed forces, Mukhtarov noted.

The exhibition, held within the framework of the Belt and Road initiative, will be held until mid-March, with over 220 photos showing the achievements China has made in the past five years in its national defense and military development.
