China speeds up Military World Games 2019 preparations

WUHAN, June 27 (ChinaMil) — The Organizing Committee of the 7th International Military Sports Council (CISM) Military World Games held a plenary meeting from June 25 to 26 in Wuhan, capital city of central China's Hubei Province.

Chairman Xu Qiliang and chairwoman Sun Chunlan of the Organizing Committee of the 7th Military World Games attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

Gen. Xu  Qiliang is a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and the vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission (CMC). Sun Chunlan is also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and the vice premier of China's State Council.

A list of tasks to be completed in the next-step preparatory work was announced at the meeting, involving 23 military and civil units responsible for fulfilling 78 major and difficult missions.

Organizing Committee members from the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Administration of Sport of China as well as the Office for International Military Cooperation of China's Central Military Commission (CMC) addressed at the meeting.

On the morning of June 26, the participants in the meeting made a spot inspection of the athletes' village of the Military World Games, the Wuhan Sports Center and the venue for Naval Pentathlon.

The 7th CISM Military World Games will be staged in Wuhan in October 2019. It will be one of the largest and most influential international sports games at the highest level to be held in China after the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
