BEIJING, July 9 (ChinaMil) -- According to ARMY.81.CN, the official website of the Chinese PLA Army, the PLA Army will hold the “Ingenious Soldiers” military skills competition from July 9 to 18, 2018.
The competition will be held in five places simultaneously, namely, Shijiazhuang, Guilin, Chongqing, Hefei, and Zhurihe. Over 2,000 officers and soldiers from more than 50 units of the PLA Army will take part.
This “Ingenious Soldiers” military skills competition will be divided into five categories, namely, reconnaissance and intelligence, special operations, information support, electronic counter-measures (ECM), and army aviation assault.
These five categories are respectively named “Ingenious Scout -2018”, “Ingenious Special Operations Soldier -2018”, “Ingenious Information Support Soldier -2018”, “Ingenious Cyber-Electromagnetic Soldier -2018”, and “Ingenious Army Assault Soldier -2018”.
The military skills competition is scheduled as follows:
“Ingenious Scout - 2018” competition: It will be held among scouts, with 55 items in total, from July 11 to 17 in Shijiazhuang of central China's Hebei Province.
“Ingenious Special Operations Soldier -2018” competition: It will be held among special operations units from July 10 to 16 in Guilin of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, with 64 items in total, in which firing practices will involve pistols, rifles, sniper rifles, light machine guns, and so on.
“Ingenious Information Support Soldier -2018” competition: It will be held from July 10 to 14 in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality. The individual competition will fall into five major domains, including mobile communication, radio communication, and telephone communication, while the group competition will mainly focus on detachment combat operations, establishment of communication hubs, and other contents.
“Ingenious Cyber-Electromagnetic Soldier -2018” competition: It will be held from July 12 to 16 in Hefei of east China's Anhui Province. The competition will be held among battle squads (teams), involving mission undertaking, team readiness, team maneuvering, and other operation flows.
“Ingenious Army Assault Soldier -2018” competition: It will be held from July 9 to 15 at the Zhurihe training base in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The competition will take place among air assault teams of the PLA Army aviation troops, where there will be 22 items in seven categories in total, including combat theory, combat stamina, solo combat flight, single-helicopter tactics, and detachment tactics.
