HONG KONG, August 27 (ChinaMil) -- The Hong Kong Garrison of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) successfully completed its 21st troop rotation on August 25 since it assumed Hong Kong's defense responsibility on July 1, 1997.
中国人民解放军驻香港部队25日组织了进驻香港以来第二十一次建制单位轮换行动，轮换行动于当日顺利完成。
Han You, spokesperson for the PLA Hong Kong Garrison, announced the relevant information on the annual rotation of the garrison troops and the arrangement for retired soldiers.
解放军驻香港部队新闻发言人韩铀25日就香港驻军建制单位轮换及退役士兵离港发布相关消息。
Han said the 21st troop rotation was successfully carried out in accordance with the Garrison Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSARP) of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the command of China’s Central Military Commission (CMC). The size of garrison troops remained unchanged in both personnel and weaponry after the rotation.
韩铀表示，根据《中华人民共和国香港特别行政区驻军法》关于“香港驻军实行人员轮换制度”的规定和中央军委的命令，驻军于25日组织了进驻香港以来第二十一次建制单位轮换行动。轮换行动已于当日顺利完成，部队轮换后，驻军在香港特别行政区的部队员额和装备数量保持不变。
According to the relevant provisions of the Military Service Law of the People's Republic of China, some soldiers completing their term of military service this year have been discharged from active duty recently and returned to their native places in the mainland, Han added.
韩铀说，根据《中华人民共和国兵役法》有关规定，今年服役期满的驻军士兵已于近日退出现役，离开香港返回内地原籍。
