BEIJING, Sept. 14 (ChinaMil) -- The 12th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China 2018) will be held grandly at the China International Aviation and Aerospace Center (Zhuhai Airshow Center). What are the highlights of Airshow China 2018? What star equipment will be unveiled? At the press conference held on September 13, the organizer in charge of Airshow China 2018 made a systematic introduction on the highlights of the air show.

Aerial flight Show and ground dynamic demonstration

It is reported that in addition to the Bayi Aerobatics Team of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force. The “Saudi Hawks” aerobatic display team from the Royal Saudi Air Force will send nine BAE Hawk MK.65A trainers to participate in the air show for the first time. The team will present a spectacular aerobatic show.

ARJ21 (Advanced Regional Jet for the 21st Century), Boeing 787 wide-body passenger aircraft and other domestic and foreign star models will also perform demonstration flights during the show.

Last year’s dynamic demonstration of ground equipment kept many audience and military fans well entertained and freshly remembered. This year, the contents of the ground equipment dynamic demonstration will be even more rich and varied due to the expansion of the scale of the ground equipment dynamic demonstration area.

Li Chunjian, vice president of China North Industries Group Corporation Limited (NORINCO), announced that the venue for dynamic demonstration of this year’s Airshow China will be further expanded. The VT4, VT2B, VT5 main battle tanks, VN1, VN2, VN4 wheeled armored vehicles, VN12, VN17 tracked armored infantry fighting vehicles, VP11 mine-protected vehicles, and VP22 transportation vehicles, etc. independently developed and manufactured by NORINCO will give live demonstrations such as climbing slopes, crossing trenches, wading into water, and snake-shaped maneuvers, to showcase high-mobility, flexibility and strong off-road capability.

In addition to the above demonstration events, the demonstration for weapons shooting, basic tactics, equipment folding and unfolding, etc. will also be added in to this year’s Airshow China. The aerobatic show in the air and the dynamic demonstration on the ground will complement each other, making the show more attractive and visually exciting to the audience.

The Long March rocket and the domestic large aircraft family exhibits will be collectively unveiled

In terms of aviation equipment, the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) will participate in a total of 145 products representing “two types and four generations, 20 series, domestic large aircraft family” in the Airshow China 2018. 45 products will be exhibited for the first time among them. Many star models such as AG600, MA700 and AC series helicopters will make their public debut on this show in their own way.

Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC), the main body of the development and manufacturing of Chinese large civil aircraft, will display the 1:1 prototype of the CR929 long-range wide-body aircraft. The ARJ21 advanced regional passenger aircraft will perform static display and demonstration flights.

With an exhibition area of nearly 1,300 square meters, Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC) will be able to display aerospace engines, gas turbines, helicopter transmission systems and other major aviation products, among which, the wide-body passenger aircraft engines, civil turboshaft turboprop engines and foreign trade products developed for the international market are all exhibited for the first time.

In the aerospace field, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) will bring a total of 184 latest scientific and technological achievements to participate in the Airshow China 2018. The new generation of carrier rocket families will be unveiled with the 1:10 model for the first time; the space station core cabin module, Change-4 lunar probe and relay satellite 1:3 model will also be exhibited for the first time. The global low-orbit satellite mobile communications and space internet system “Hong Yan Xing Zuo” translated literally as “swan goose constellation”, the “Rainbow” series of UAVs will also be displayed at this year’s Airshow China.

China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Limited (CASIC) will display the overall capabilities of the air defense system, coastal defense system, ground strike system, unmanned combat system, early warning and surveillance security system, commercial aerospace system, command communications and support guarantee system, and nearly 100 products in a systematical way. This year’s show will be larger than any previous year!
