Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed efforts to comprehensively strengthen the military training and war preparedness of the armed forces and improve its capability to win wars.
He emphasized thorough implementation of the Party's thinking of strengthening the military in the new era and military strategy for new conditions.
Xi, also general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks on Thursday while inspecting the 79th Group Army of the People's Liberation Army in northeastern China's Liaoning Province.
The president praised soldiers' thought of blazing new ideas on command coordination, warfare application, and equipment innovation while visiting the training ground of the army.

Boarding the Z-10 military helicopter, third generation fighter independently developed and manufactured by China, Xi manipulated the airborne weapons and sighting system in order to get insight into the main battle weaponry.
During a combat-oriented military training, Xi affirmed the excellent quality demonstrated by the troops. Dozens of helicopters passed the airport tower in battle formation, displaying the results of their tactical combat military training.
Later, Xi emphasized the importance of using military training to prepare for actual combat in a speech.
Urging for the building of new forces to speed up, he said they should be proactive in combat operations.
Xi also called for in-depth reform in the military building, including structural changes, system and policy innovations and the introduction of new weapons.
The military must enhance its political awareness to achieve the goal of building a strong army, Xi added.
