他认为，这次任务与以往相比有三个鲜明特点。一是高效，受新冠肺炎疫情影响，双方不在岸上开设联合导演部、联合指挥部等演习指挥机构，中方参演兵力不经集结准备，直接赶赴演习场；二是实战，临机对接、全程任务式指挥，更加符合海军兵力指挥运用的实际；三是突破，首次组织航空兵飞机经俄境前出大洋参演，首次组织055型驱逐舰等多型装备走出国门参加联演，特别是双方舰艇组成联合编队首次开展海上联合巡航，开创了中俄海军联合行动的新模式。
