BEIJING, Jan.13 -- Recently, volunteers from Fuyang District, Hangzhou City, East China's Zhejiang Province, traveled over 1,000 km within one month to visit and take photos for 87 Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) veterans who had once participated in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and then photoshopped these individual photos into a precious group photo.

All 87 veterans were dressed in CPV army uniforms and wore the medals commemorating the 70th anniversary of the CPV entering the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to fight in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea on their chests. Their average age is over 90.

It is learnt that in Fuyang District at that time, there were 89 surviving CPV army veterans, most of whom are over 95 years old, and some are bedridden all year round. It is impossible for them to gather together for a real group picture. A feasible way thereby is to take personal photos of them all at first, and then put them together with the aid of computer technology.

The program to make a digital composite photo was officially launched on October 25, 2021, a day for commemorating the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. During the month-long shooting and producing process, the photographers overcame numerous difficulties, took individual photos one by one and stepped up post-production. The group photo was ultimately completed on November 25, 2021.

At present, the volunteers have sent the framed composite group photos to each and every one of the aged veterans.
