Chinese peacekeeping contingent to South Sudan conducts emergency defense drill

Beijing, Feb.10 -- Recently, the 12th peacekeeping engineering contingent to South (Wau) Sudan conducted a full-element emergency defense drill.

The drill was conducted against the scenario of clashes between unidentified armed personnel outside the peacekeeping troops' camp. Through close coordination among guards, medical personnel and other units, the Chinese peacekeepers conducted UAV reconnaissance, cordon and expulsion operation, and fire strike training.

The drill, as their first full-element emergency defense drill in 2022, aimed at verifying the troops' ability to deal with contingencies, counter terrorists and safeguard security.
