BEIJING, April 24 -- The Chinese PLA Navy’s hospital ship Peace Ark, designed and built independently by China, is the world’s first specialized far-sea hospital ship with the full displacement exceeding 10000 tons. Since joining the PLA Navy in 2008, the Peace Ark has visited 43 countries and regions, providing medical service for 230,000 persons around the world.
