The 19th Shangri-La Dialogue concluded on June 12 in Singapore. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's keynote address at the meeting was evaluated by the Japanese media as aiming at China.

This is the second time that Japan has sent a prime minister-level figure to give a keynote address at the Shangri-La Dialogue. In 2014, then-Prime Minister Shinzo Abe attacked China at the dialogue without naming name. Compared with Abe's address eight years ago, Kishida's address this time not only advocates targeting China in the political, military, economic and other fields, but also instigates other Asian countries to confront China while claiming to increase military spending. The Japanese Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi's address basically repeated the tune of Kishida's address and especially showed a military confrontational attitude on the Taiwan question.

Given Japan's recent moves on China, it is not surprising that Japanese politicians made such addresses at the Shangri-La Dialogue.

Currently, the US is implementing the so-called "Indo-Pacific strategy", which makes some Japanese politicians think that they have found an opportunity to challenge China, loosen post-war military restrictions and seek hegemony in Asia. But at the same time, they saw that the US no longer had the strength it once had when it came to meddling in Asian affairs, so they took the initiative to play the role of Asian agent, serving for the US.

In his address at the Shangri-La Dialogue, Kishida announced the launch of the so-called "Free and Open Indo-Pacific Plan for Peace" next year to deter China in a series of political, economic, diplomatic, military, industry chain and other levels. In their addresses, Kishida and Nobuo Kishi exaggerated the so-called "Ukraine today may be East Asia tomorrow" and attacked China "make no promise to renounce the use of force on Taiwan", aiming to find a pretext for Japan to increase military spending, amend the peace constitution, and engage in military confrontation in Asia.

In addition, the Japanese side also claimed to strengthen military exchanges with Southeast Asian countries and other countries and provide military assistance to attract several countries that can confront China. But its attempt failed completely.

For example, Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto said at the dialogue that Indonesia respects all major powers and therefore will not participate in any military alliances. Malaysian Senior Minister for Defense Hishammuddin Hussein also stressed in his address that ASEAN will decide its own path. Other Southeast Asian countries have also expressed their attitude that they will not choose sides. Historically, many Asian countries have been poisoned by Japanese imperialism, and they are naturally aware of the ulterior motives of certain Japanese politicians.

Japan is willing to be a pawn of the US, promoting the expansion of NATO in the Asia-Pacific region and advocating a comprehensive confrontation against China. All these seriously endanger the international order and regional peace and stability. The complete loss of Japan during World War II is not far away, and the real intention of Japanese politicians' China policy will only lead Japan to the abyss again.
